Hi folks!

PHEW! We are officially back in the swing of things and in routine. Grade 3 students have started addition (and soon subtraction) strategies. We are quickening our Math facts with one minute challenges. Grade 4 students have started multiplication (and soon division) strategies. They have official begun the “50s Club” where they complete 50 questions in 5 minutes. So far we have focused on fact families of 1, 2 and 3. They are responsible to know up to 10×10 by the end of the year. We have also made a new country! Robichaud-nada. This is our launching point to learn about the government/democracy (grade 3 focus) and geography/world countries (grade 4 focus). I’ve also been testing students in both French and English. Once I have everyone tested, I’ll send home a note to officially let you know where they are in achieving end of year goals.

Scholastic Book Orders were sent home this week. If you’re looking to order, please do so on or before Thursday, January 15th. School calendars went home this week too. FYI: our last skating day will be February 3rd and we will be going together as a class.

*Our class in is need of headphones. If you have extra at home, we will gladly take them! Many headphone have broken since the beginning of the year and I don’t have enough extras to cover everyone. Please ask your child if they need another pair.*

All for now! There’s a sweet picture on our class website.
