Hi folks!

Our Christmas concert is fast approaching (Wed, Dec 10th in the afternoon with a raindate of Thurs, Dec 11th in the afternoon). Students will be singing White Christmas AND playing an instrumental piece Oh Christmas Tree. Red music books and recorders will be sent home tomorrow and are asked to be return each day. Please have them practice at home. Here is the link to the lyrics and karaoke music: Christmas Concert Song | King Street Elementary

Parent-Teacher forms have been sent home today. Please return. First come first served! If you already feel informed, it’s totally optional. We are also asking for students to be dressed for the weather and we will be hosting a class “shopping” party.

Reminder: if your child is staying afterschool or changing regular afterschool bussing, please let me know. A note in their agenda or on a piece of paper, an email etc. It saves me a lot of time double-checking. With so many participating in choir, drama and basketball (yay for participation!), we want to make sure everyone is “in the know”. Thank you!

Side note: I’m having a hard time uploading photos to our website. I’ll let you know once they are uploaded.

All for now!

Reminders:

THURS: Bird presentation
FRI: Month-end assembly
MON: Science workshop for students, Grade 3-5 choir goes to Percy’s place
TUES: Extra music practice for the class, Report-cards go home
WED:
THURS: Grade 3-5 choir afterschool practice, Parent-Teacher in evening
FRI: No school for students (Parent-Teacher in AM)

Christmas Concert Song

Hi folks!

Here are the lyrics and a link to our Christmas concert song. Thanks for practicing!

Noël Blanc

I’m dreamin’ of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen (listen)
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

Oh quand j’entends chanter Noël
J’aime revoir mes joies d’enfant
Le sapin scintillant, la neige d’argent
Noël, mon beau rêve blanc

Oh quand j’entends sonner au ciel
L’heure où le bon vieillard descend
Je revois tes yeux clairs, maman
Et je songe à d’autres Noëls blancs

I’m dreamin’ of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Noël Blanc (Song – White Christmas) Lyrics, Translation

Karaoke: The Drifters-White Christmas (Karaoke Version)

Hi folks!

Just a quick message today! I’m hoping this sends out today (Monday) but I’m guessing it won’t until tomorrow. Worth a shot!

Tomorrow (TUESDAY) the Christmas Cash draw is due. Thanks for everyone’s support on the biggest fundraiser for students!

Also, tomorrow (TUESDAY), the GRADE 3 students will be going skating. We will leave the school at 8:45am and skate from 9:15-9:45. Adults are welcome to come tie skates and go for a skate too!

MUSIC – some students will be bringing recorders and music books home to practice for the Christmas Concert. Please make sure to return both to the school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when we have music class. Thanks!

Interested Grade 4 students can join the robotics club on Wednesdays @lunch.

All for now! I’ll update the pictures on Tuesday!
