Remembrance Day Art

4B worked together beautifully to create meaningful Remembrance Day art for the gymnasium. Using tissue paper, they crafted stunning 3-D poppies that showcased their creativity and teamwork. These thoughtful pieces added a special touch to our Remembrance Day ceremony and helped everyone reflect on the occasion’s significance.

Electricity!

During a recent science activity, students had the chance to use dominoes to model how electricity flows in a circuit. They tapped into their creativity to build impressive structures that demonstrated cause-and-effect, just like in real electrical systems. This hands-on exploration helped make complex science concepts fun and memorable!

Fall Pumpkins

In art class, students explored a variety of creative techniques while making vibrant oil pastel drawings of fall pumpkins. They learned how to blend colors smoothly, create highlights and shadows, and use light and dark tones to add depth and realism to their artwork. These hands-on lessons helped students develop their artistic skills and appreciation for the possibilities of oil pastels.

Halloween Haunts

Our class celebrated Halloween with a variety of exciting activities that had everyone laughing and learning. Students used their senses to guess the mysterious items in our bubbling cauldron, competed in fast-paced Halloween “Minute to Win It” challenges, and showed off their singing skills during karaoke. The festivities wrapped up with a lively dance party in the cafeteria, making it a Halloween to remember!

Class Dojo

In our classroom, we use Class Dojo as a reward system to reinforce positive behaviour. Students earn points for modelling the school values, such as showing respect, being responsible, and being safe. These points contribute to individual and class rewards, motivating students to make positive choices every day. Class Dojo also provides a way for you to stay informed about your child’s achievements and classroom news, ensuring we work together to support your child’s success.

I am sending home an instruction sheet tonight that explains how to sign up for Class Dojo if you are interested. I have attached a picture below with a QR code for students to log in to Class Dojo Islands and participate in classroom activities.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Sincerely,

Miss B
